“Thousand Dollar Project #2” 2007, Performance project at a show “Women Artist in Action”

Starting from Downtown San Francisco, I walked to the City Hall where the gallery was located. I asked random people from the street to ask me to do an action for them, such as singing a song, being a chair for the person to sit on, or falling down to the floor so they can enjoy my gravity dance. I asked the person if they were satisfied with my performance, If the person said that they were completely satisfied, I wrote a thousand dollar check. If the person was less satisfied, I wrote a five hundred dollar check, and so on. All the checks were post-dated a thousand years from the day of the performance.
